Cyber Security & You

The management team at FaithLife Financial is very serious about protecting any personal data that has been entrusted to us by our Members. In support of this, FaithLife Financial has upgraded our internet firewalls, hardware and software to help monitor and protect against known cyber risks.
FaithLife Financial has recently implemented a Cyber Security training program through KnowBe4 in order to help educate our employees and our Financial Representatives on how to identify potential cyber threats.
Thankfully, more companies are implementing cyber security training programs. For those individuals seeking more information on cyber awareness, there are ways that you can learn about protecting yourself and your family online. The Government of Canada offers an informative website: getcybersafe.gc.ca.
The articles on this website are free of charge and contain reports on cyber security risks as well as some good tips to protect you and/or your business online. The Get Cyber Safe site also contains a Resources tab with videos and publications containing frequently asked questions, infographics and advice on how to report a cybercrime.
HERE ARE THREE SIMPLE THINGS YOU CAN DO TO START PROTECTING YOURSELF ONLINE:
- Use strong passwords for your accounts that include numbers, lower case and capitalized letters, and are not easy to guess, e.g. password, 12345, your name, birthday etc.
- Do not open suspicious emails from someone you do not know or emails requesting that you re-enter sensitive data.
- Be very careful when using public Wi-Fi or public computers and keep your antivirus software up to date.
Begin educating and protecting yourself against potential cyber crimes. Take charge of your online safety today!
