Programmer Analyst

 Responsible for the analysis, design, development and implementation of application software for all Head Office systems and Field systems, including on call support and trouble shooting to the customer's satisfaction.

 Accountabilities

Analyze code, test, document, and debug programs and systems using appropriate programming languages ensuring efficient systems usage while ensuring integrity of the output in order to develop efficient and effective application software.

In conjunction with Business Analysts and Help Desk ensure proper testing and deployment of software releases.

Assist Business Analyst in determining systems specifications to develop applications.

 Resolve production problems and help desk problems in order to ensure users have access to reliable systems.

Maintain both systems and user documentation.

Maintain awareness of new information technologies in order to contribute to improved systems.

 Qualifications

Good analytical and problem solving skills

Strong programming knowledge

Ability to multitask

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Able to develop applications in Visual Basic, Crystal Reports, MS SQL, and MS Office.

Understand development in the PC environment 

 Excellent team player

Knowledge of insurance and it's business needs

Minimum post secondary education in an IT related field

3+ years programming experience

2-5 years prior experience in Visual Basic and Crystal Reports

Knowledge of InstallShield or MSI is an asset

 Knowledge of the insurance industry is an asset

Must start working on an industry designation (FLMI)
